Thank you Secretary Gonzales

3258274317 Many people hate the guts of Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez because he speaks his mind on controversial issues.

You may hate the guy, but you admire his courage for voicing out his opinion even if it means getting all the flak. He’s no pansy like some judges or justices who make decisions based on the prevailing public opinion. Okay, the guy could be wrong in his opinions. “Wrong” is a relative term. What is wrong today could become right tomorrow.

Remember, the great Sen. Claro M. Recto was hated for his nationalistic views. Everybody thought he was wrong. But Recto’s views have become right in the present perspective.

Gonzalez is like Recto. He may yet prove everybody wrong in the future. Right now, we need more Raul Gonzalezes in the government service-men or women who stand up for their convictions.

I have this response to Name@ of which he praised Sen. Recto's nationalistic views, and insulted Sec. Gonzales as senile and stupid. . . whoever you I to tell you that whatever comes out of your mouth is the content of your heart, be careful because you are telling the world exactly who you are.

When I read that Dan was transfered from MCJ to a holding cell inside the U.S. Embassy, I was elated. My prayer now is for him to get the justice he deserved. To the Magistrates of the Court of Appeals, the life of an innocent man now lies in your hand. May God guide each one of you as you deliberate on Dan's case.

Senator Recto had nationalistic views, which turned out to be correct and good. And he contributed a lot to our country. But gonzales have stated downright stupid and senile arguments and comments, it makes me want to pack up my bags and renounce my nationality. Please do not make such hasty and mistaken comparisons.
